Finding your way around the site

In response to a few questions during the website launch, I thought it might help to give some tips as to how the site works and how best to use it.

Please read the Store Policies on Shipping, Returns, Condition, Payments and Abbreviations as they should answer most of your questions.

All items are placed in one or more of the 8 main categories:

1. Boxed Dolls – this means NRFB (Never Removed From Box)

2. Boxed Outfits - this means NRFB (Never Removed From Box)

3. Loose Dolls – dressed or nude dolls

4. Loose Outfits – single pieces up to complete outfits

5. Accessories and Extras – accessories for the dolls, plus extras like Barbie stands and dental elastics.

6. Non-Mattel - – for fashion dolls by other companies, such as Takara, Integrity, Gene, Sindy etc

7. Vintage and Mod- for Barbie, family and friends, 1959-1972

8. Holidays/ Collectable Dolls – for the Happy Holidays series, Silkstones and other Collectable dolls.

You can click on a category and look at all items in it, or if you keep scrolling, you will simply see All Products with the most recent products first. I am interested in any comments about adding new categories – one suggestion is “Family and Friends” for Midge, Ken, Skipper, Francie and so on.

If you see something you like, you have two choices:

  1. When you hover your mouse over the photo, you can click on ‘Quick View’ and it opens a new small window with information. The little dots under the main photo mean each is another photo. When you have finished looking, click the “x” in the top right hand side and the window will close, leaving you exactly where you were before.

  2. Click on the picture itself, and it changes to a page with more information and additional photos. As the photos are an important part of the description, flaws are shown as clearly as possible so you can see the condition of the item. From here you can click on “Previous” or “Next” to go forward or back, or use the back button on your browser to return to the page you were on.

The Search function is another useful tool. You can Search all categories from the main page, or you can search within each category. You can also Sort by:

· Newest

· Price (lowest first, or highest first)

· Name (A-Z or Z-A)

This may help you find what you are looking for more quickly.

In the lower right hand corner of every screen, there is a pink button with an arrow which will take you back to the top of the screen. The button above that is the “Home” button which will take you back to the main Shop page.

The mobile site works in a similar way. There is a Menu button in the top right corner which has drop-down menu options for the Shop, Blog, Shipping and Policies, and Contact page. When you select a category for the Shop, you have an option to Search, or to Sort by Newest / Price or A-Z. You make your choice from the options at the bottom of the screen, then hit “Done” to commence the sorting.

Once you are looking at a specific item, you can swipe to the left to see more photos, then close with the “X” up the top right. When you have finished, you can click the “Back to Home” button at the top left.

At present, an item continues to appear as In Stock even though someone has put it in their cart and payment is pending. Unfortunately this means you may see something you like which appears to be available, but it is no longer available. I am trying to change this but it is the default in the software I am using.

As the site cannot automatically calculate combined shipping or discounts, when you place your order, you cannot pay immediately. I will email you with the correct totals and payment details for bank deposit or paypal.

If you have any problems, please send a message from the Contact page and let us know, as we want your shopping to be fun, not frustrating!

Hi There Megan🌺💕

Congratulations on your wonderful and well needed/wanted Australian website!

I’m so excited about your venture and everything looks fantastically and so organised, I love it my friend.

One question, Megan, will you have a “ wish list” or have I missed it, as I find this useful rather than keep placing what I hope to buy in “the Cart” as I go through your listings maybe not all in one purchase but can come back to later to buy if still available.

Thank you so much, and I wish you well & success, Megan, for creating this wonderful opportunity to buy our favourite dolls and their fashions on a website in Australia. 🌺💕🌺
